Not every story is worth telling, and not every painting tells a story, but the painting here called Banaras Ghat by BV Nalakar is something that says a thousand words, each one singing the songs carried by the winds from the banks of the Ganga river flowing through Banaras. The songs of the boatsmen, the songs of the bells in the temple, the songs of the flags rustling in the wind, and the songs of the water whispering the story of their journey. This painting is a perfect accumulation of what can be expected while visiting these ghats.

While one can have their own perspective about what the artist wants to say, there is always one that is more pleasing than the rest, might be that’s the message that the artist portrayed or maybe its something an onlooker conceived, but nonetheless, every single one of them is beautiful in its own way.
